Many asylum seekers cannot afford an attorney. We're here to help.

NorCal Resist is working with community partners to provide assistance to asylum seekers who have been unable to pay for a private attorney or secure pro bono representation. Our asylum workshop program provides trained volunteers and experienced immigration attorneys to assist asylum seekers in filling out the I-589 asylum application form. Filling this document out properly and completely, within 1 year of entry to the US, is critical to an asylum claim.

No one should fall through the cracks and risk deportation because they cannot afford an attorney.

Get Involved

We are always looking for interpreters (Spanish in particular, but other languages also needed!), immigration attorneys, and other volunteers to keep these asylum workshops running.
